Challenge for the month of May, a team challenge. Teams will be made up of 4 PAX. They will accumulate points individually that will go towards their team score. Team score will be a total from the month of May. Individual scores will also be tracked.
Scoring can be done in 6 ways.
• WW2 Sit Up: 1 WW2 = 1/2 point each. ( WW2 is also known as a Big Boy Sit Up)
• Merkins: 1 Merkin = 1 point each
• Pull Ups: 1 Pull Up = 2 point each
• Biking: 1 mile = 35 points
• Running 1 mile = 100 points
• Rucking 1 mile = 100 points
Rules:
• All miles must be achieved naturally. (No Stationary Bikes or Treadmills)
• Miles must be complete miles, e. For running 3.1=300pts, 3.9=300pts
• Bonus points for weight carried per mille. Run 2 Miles with 20lbs = 2*100pts + 20pts = 220 pt. points
• NO Bonus points for elevation gain ( 10,000ft of gain = 0 pts). NEW FOR 2023
Teams will track their individual and team scores. Scoreboards will be updated. Each week will start on Monday since May 1st is on a Monday this year.
Scores must be updated within 48hrs. Beatdowns done on Monday need to be entered by Wednesday!
Accountability within your team is required. Smack talk between teams is highly encouraged
(#m3 challenge in f3 nation slack).

| Do miles recorded during a F3 workout Count towards our scores? | Yes. But as with regular scoring if your workout logs 1.4 miles and you do not finish the remaining .6 miles to get to 2, then you must record 1 mile. |
| Can I use weight moved in a workout for bonus points? (Bricks, Blocks, Sandbags, Logs, etc.) | No. Unless the weight is part of a ruck wokout and continously carried then you can not score the weight points for Rucking. |
| Does walking count as rucking, but with zero weight? | We would suggest that when you walk you grab some weight and turn it into a Ruck. If you are restricted due to injury and you can not then you may score Rucks with no weight |
| Does rucking with a kid on my back count as miles and weight? | Absolutely! Spend more time with your Kids! |
| If I do a morning beatdown and get 1.4 miles and then later that day run 1.6 miles does the give me 3 miles for the day or only 2 miles? | It would be only 2 miles. The miles total must be in the same workout period. Exception to this is if you have 2.5 ,miles during a beatdown and you stop for COT. You can then compelete the last .5 directly after COT to get 3 miles. |
| What is a weighted pull-up worth? | No bonus for weighted pullups. That sucks! |
| Or weight assisted pull-ups? Most of us can only do a few real pull ups but will happily work to exhaustion with assisted pull-ups. | No points for assisted pull ups. Only unassisted pull ups count. |
| Is it true that F3 workouts are the best way to workout? | Yes. |
| Do burpees count as Merkins? | Yes. Any form up merkin counts, as long as you have full and proper form. So it you are going all the way down and back up to full extention then you can count it. |
| What if we post with a plate carrier or weight vest? Bonus points on those miles? | Yes. |
| Is fast walking the same as slow jogging…both 100 points per mile? | Yes. |
| Do Pelaton miles count the same as biking or have to do an actual real bike? | NO PELATON MILES. Actual bike only. Mountain, road, unicycle. (Not a tandam Bike) Doesn’t matter the type, just has to be outdoors. Same logic as an F3 Workout. |
| How do we record 2 rucks with 2 different weights on the same day? example 2 miles w/ 30lbs and 2 miles w/ 20 lbs. Do we take the smallest, largest, average, sum? | First ruck is 260 and the second is 240. |
| 4 rucked miles with 30 pounds of weight is 520points or 430 points? | 4 miles = 400; 30lbs* 4miles = 120. Total of 520pts |
| Some of us are training for a triathlon. Are there any point options for swimming? yards, meters, miles? | No points for swimming this year. Sorry |
| Are there exceptions to the no treadmill rule i.e. Staying in a hotel and not knowing the area well? | no treadmill. |
| Can I get a medical pass to use a stationary bike for 3 days? Wife just had major surgery and the Smokin’ Aces are pulling away. Love, Cobains. | No |
| Bing wants to know if walking to/from the toilet counts as miles. Apparently yesterday’s lunch didn’t agree with him. | If the toilet is 1-mile or more away then yes. |
| This question disappeared so am reposting: if a team member got injured at the recent Tough Mudder, can he switch out with someone else to replace him on the team? | No. Have to stay with who you started with. |
| If you get all the way down and then fully extend back up on a blockee can you count that towards your Merkin count? | A merkin is a merkin, however it was done and with whatever extra motion |
| WW2 Sit up = big boy sit ups? | Yes |
| How would we record a bike ride with weight? | Weight only applies to rucking/running |
| Why are elevation gain bonuses gone. | Because not all AOs are in the mountains. Some PAX live in areas where 1-ft per mile is the most elevation gain they’d see. |
