Teams will be made up of 4 PAX. They will accumulate points individually that will go towards their team score. Individual scores will also be tracked. Each week a “mini” challenge will become available. Weekly “mini” challenges are scored individually and will be collectively added to your team’s score. We think everyone should signup for the May Challenge, even those who are only interested in the “mini” challenges.

• All miles must be achieved naturally. (No Stationary Bikes or Treadmills)
• Miles must be complete miles, e. For running/Rucking 3.1 = 300pts, 3.9=300pts
• Bonus points for weight carried per mille. Ruck 2 Miles with 20lbs = 2*100pts + 2*20pts = 240 pt. points.

Teams will track their individual and team scores via a common google spreadsheet. The spreadsheet will automatically be created as team’s sign-up and the final version posted to F3Cleveland.com/F3MayChallenge link tree. We will also send emails out periodically throughout the month from f3cleveland@gmail.com to help keep everyone informed.

Weeks and weekly Challenges start and end on Wednesday since May 1 is a Wednesday.

Scores must be updated within 48hrs! This is most important as we near Wednesday’s, the end of weekly challenges and as we near the end of the month.
Accountability within your team is required. Lets keep our merkins looking good. Smack talk between teams is highly encouraged

Do I enter the {points} or do i enter the reps to the spreadsheetThe spreadsheet will auto compute your points. If you do 100 curls, then you enter 100 curls and 50 points is awarded. If you ruck 4 miles with 40#s, then you enter 4 and 40 and it will award you 560 points.
Do miles recorded during a F3 workout Count towards our scores?Yes. But as with regular scoring if your workout logs 1.4 miles and you do not finish the remaining .6 miles to get to 2, then you must record 1 mile.
Can I use weight moved in a workout for bonus points? (Bricks, Blocks, Sandbags, Logs, etc.)If you moved the weight 1 mile, than you rucked, even if you stopped 43 times during that mile to rest.
Does walking count as rucking, but with zero weight? Or does it count as running.Thats correct. Walking 1 mile is worth 100 points same as rucking 1 mile with zero weight, ie “slick”. Some might see walking as very slow running. However you define it, be consistent. Do your best!
Does rucking with a kid on my back count as miles and weight?Absolutely! Spend more time with your Kids! If they are passed out then they are more like a sandbag.
If I do a morning beatdown and get 1.4 miles and then later that day run 1.6 miles does the give me 3 miles for the day or only 2 miles?It would be only 2 miles. The miles total must be in the same workout period. Exception to this is if you have 2.5 ,miles during a beatdown and you stop for COT. You can then complete the last .5 directly after COT to get 3 miles.
What is a weighted pull-up worth?No May Challenge bonus points for weighted pull ups. Your reward is knowing you’re a beast.
Or weight assisted pull-ups? Most of us can only do a few real pull ups but will happily work to exhaustion with assisted pull-ups.No points for assisted pull ups. Only unassisted pull ups count.

do burpees count as Merkins?Great question. Any form of merkin counts, as long as you have full and proper form. So it you are going all the way down and back up then you can count it.
What if we post with a plate carrier or weight vest? Bonus points on those miles?In this competition we will allow the weighted vest. If it were a true Ruck contest it would not count as the weight carrieres different
Is fast walking the same as slow jogging…both 100 points per mile?Yes
Do Pelaton miles count the same as biking or have to do an actual real bike?NO PELATON MILES. Actual bike only. Mountain, road, unicycle. (Not a tandam Bike) Doesn’t matter the type, just has to be outdoors. Same logic as an F3 Workout.
How do we record 2 rucks with 2 different weights on the same day? example 2 miles w/ 30lbs and 2 miles w/ 20 lbs. Do we take the smallest, largest, average, sum?
based on your answer for line 16 (weight points are per mile) we’ll take the average. Seems fair.
If you are training with multiple weights for different rucks a day, then you can figure out how to prorate your miles and weight so the awarded points is correct. If you need help, ask ChatGPT.
So, 4 rucked miles with 30 pounds of weight is 520points or 430 points?Weight points are per mile. 4 miles = 400 pts. 4 * 30 = 120pts for the weight. Total 520 pts earned
Some of us are training for a triathlon. Are there any point options for swimming? yards, meters, miles?No points for swimming this year.
If you’re Jesus, then you can ruck on the water and that will count.

How would we record a bike ride with weight?Weight only applies to rucking. If you think you are running with weight you are actually ruck shuffling. the spreadsheet only assigns weight points for ruck miles.

For the May Challenge, what’s the definition of a coupon curl? I’ve searched and have come up empty. Does it require a certain amount of weight?

A ‘coupon’ is a cinder block of about ~40lbs.    If cinder blocks are not available, then a plate curl would be equivalent.    A plate is 45lbs.   We highly recommend keeping a cinder block “coupon” with you at all times, so you can rep out 100 here and there.
