F3 Cleveland | Fairview Park

F3, short for Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith, is a peer-led men’s workout group that originated in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2011. In 2013, a Clevelander, Schotty, attended a workout and decided to start the first F3 workout group North of the Mason-Dixon line. After more than 10 years of workouts in Rocky River and other Cleveland communities, we are looking to plant new, small workout groups in Fairview Park.

Frequently Asked Questions about F3

Who are you guys?

We are regular guys probably a lot like you. We have busy schedules as teachers, software engineers, doctors, tradesman, sales reps, hospital & school administrators and even some lawyers and so we try to fit workouts into our schedule early in the morning. Our group has men of all ages but we are primarily in our 30s, 40s and 50s.

Why are you doing this?

After seeing the benefits F3 has brought to our own lives, we would like to see this organization grow and have a positive impact on the lives of men in our community. In addition to the fitness benefits, F3 provides a social network that so many of us need.

How much does this cost?

Zero. One of the core principles of F3 is that it is zero cost to participate.

Am I fit enough for F3?

Push yourself but don’t hurt yourself. We all started somewhere and yes, you may be a bit sore in the beginning but you’ll be surprised how quickly you can adapt.

What am I getting into?

Honestly, you’re gathering with a group of fellow guys that share a desire to make themselves and those men around them better—regardless of their fitness level. It’s not a gym. There isn’t a trainer barking orders. There is no one tearing you down to go beyond your means. Rather, it is a group of fellow community members, just like you. We vary in shape, strength, stamina, faith and age. But, we unify in our goal to “leave no man behind, but leave no man where you find them.”

How many people are there?

The workouts themselves tend to be small groups of 4-10 guys. In the Cleveland area, we probably have 100+ guys that regularly attend the 50 or so workouts scheduled each week.

What kind of a workout is it?

First, there is a 5 minute warmup. The peer leader (our Q) will lead the group through a series of stretches to prepare for the main workout. Second, there is a main workout that typically lasts 35 minutes. Depending on who leads, some workouts lean more on cardio and some lean more power. While the workouts vary, one thing is constant. Everything in F3 is you vs. you–regardless of your fitness level. If you need to modify, you do. Third, we gather in a circle for 6MOM (aka, 6-Minutes of Mary for Ab work). Finally, fourth, we always end in a COT (aka, Circle of Trust) with announcements, and intentions.

We also have specialty workouts that are just a run or a ruck (walking with a weighted backpack) or alternative CrossFit-style WODs like the Murph

Most workouts are followed by a quick coffee stop to catch up with the guys.

I am not really religious. Is F3 right for me?

Faith is not defined as a specific religion or faith system. Rather, it is simply a belief in something outside oneself. Again, the Pax gather to raise each other up–regardless of what your motivation is to be a part of the group.

How do I get involved with F3?

The best way to get involved is to show up at a workout. Check out the schedule and stop by.
